How do I get the template after I buy?

The moment your payment clears, Stripe triggers an email to the address you checked out with. That email contains your download link — click it to get to the Google Sheets 'make a copy' page (and to download the Excel .xlsx version). The link is valid for 72 hours. If you don't see it, check your spam folder first, then email us.

Do I need a Google account?

The template works in Google Sheets, which needs a free Google account — click 'make a copy' and it's yours to edit. Prefer Excel? The download also includes an Excel (.xlsx) version that opens in Microsoft Excel or any spreadsheet app, no Google account required.

Is this a subscription?

No. You pay once and the template is yours to keep and copy as many times as you like. There is no recurring charge from us.

Can I use it to file my taxes, or does it replace an accountant?

The template is a tracking and organization tool, not tax advice. It helps you see your income, categorize expenses, and set aside an estimated tax amount — but it does not prepare or file taxes. For anything tax-related, work with a qualified tax professional. We're not accountants and nothing in the template should be read as professional tax or legal guidance.

What if my download link expires before I use it?

Just email us at hello@penciledger.com with your order email address and we'll send a fresh link right away.

Can I get a refund?

Because the template is delivered digitally the moment you pay, all sales are final once the download link is sent. That said, if something is broken, doesn't work as described, or we made an error, email us at hello@penciledger.com and we'll fix it or refund you — no runaround.

Does it work for Etsy sellers, coaches, or other solo business owners?

Yes. The Finance OS is built around the income-by-client, expense-by-category, and quarterly-tax pattern that applies to most self-employed people. It's easiest to adapt if your money flow is: you do the work, you send the invoice, you get paid. If your situation is more complex (employees, inventory, multiple entities), you may need something more robust.
